UPDATED IADA CONFERENCE ANNOUNCEMENT

 

IADA members,

The annual IADA Conference is coming up shortly on April 29 - May 1, 2022, at the Embassy Suites in East Peoria, Illinois. If you haven't registered, you may register as a walk up on Saturday, April 30th.

During the Business Meeting on Sunday, we will be voting on three Constitutional Amendments, please review them below (The amended portions are in Bold)

ARTICLE V: SECTION 1 – A (MEMBERSHIP)

A. The Executive Board shall consist of awards chairperson, historian, membership chairperson, journal editor, public relations/social media chairperson, hall of fame chairperson, NIAAA liaison, retired member’s liaison, business manager, leadership training coordinator, mentoring coordinator, website coordinator, state certification program coordinator, executive director, Junior High Liaison, and the officers.

ARTICLE V: SECTION 1 – G (At Large Member)

G. At-Large member may be appointed if a legislative Division is not represented on the Executive Board by more than the Division liaison. Up to three members shall be appointed by the Executive Board, one At-Large member must be a racial minority, one At-Large member must be a member of the underrepresented gender, and/or one At-Large member must be a member of a private/non-public school, and/or one At-Large member must be from a school of 300 students or less. (An at-large member shall be appointed by the officers for a one (1) term year and may be reappointed each year). All At-Large members must be Athletic Administrators of an IADA member school. At-large members elected to the Board of Directors may not be from the same Board Division.

ARTICLE III: SECTION 3 – (Dues)

A. Annual dues shall be determined by the Executive Board at the conclusion of the state conference for the future school year. Membership dues will be paid or renewed starting after the State Conference and last until through the state Conference. Paid membership is required for attendance at the state conference.

B. The IADA will become a DUAL Membership state (collecting both the IADA and NIAAA dues) on an annual basis, except for those members who are Lifetime Members of these organizations.

The mission of the Illinois Athletic Administrators Association is to take an active role in preserving, enhancing, and promoting eductional based athletics within the State of Illinois.  The IADA provides a commitment to professional development of its members in areas of education, leadership, and service.  Working in conjunction with the Illinois High School Association, National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association, and National Federation of High Schools, the IADA wishes to create quality interscholastic athletic participation opportunities for all Illinois students.

The IADA Board would like to thank you for all that you do for the student athletes of your schools.  We all know the time and effort we put into our positions.  We come from small schools, large schools, middle and high schools; but no matter what, we all share in a common goal, and that is to provide the best educationally based athletic program for our students.
