Beacon Academy is looking for an experienced running coach willing to work with both cross country and track programs for continuity of training for our male and female athletes. The ideal candidate can coach both sprinting and distance events with an emphasis in middle distance running. Or a distance coach willing to learn the basics of spring training or vice versa. (We are willing to provide training.)

This individual must have an attention to detail along with the patience necessary for individualized learning styles. Our expectations range from practicing 3-4x per week, organized training plans for off-days, knowledge of training cycles alongside a competitive schedule, as well as experience training high level athletes alongside new runners.

This individual must have good written and oral communication skills and have a willingness to uphold our school sportsmanship expectations. The season would follow the IHSA guidelines. Beacon Academy does not own a track and utilizes city facilities for all training. We host two cross country meets per Fall season and one track meet that our conference rotates responsibilities each Spring season.

Qualifications:

Associates or Bachelors degree preferred College playing experience College coaching experience Head High School coaching experience

3-5 years assistant coaching experience

General Information:

All employee onboarding paperwork, background checks, immunizations, and fingerprint checks must be completed prior to the start of the season through the direction of Beacon's online system - Zenefits You must possess a CPR certification, or be willing to seek certification upon arrival; Beacon accommodates all coaches in the late summer/early fall You must adhere to all IHSA guidelines, including all certification tests assigned by Beacon Academy, the IHSA, and/or the NFHS You must be willing to drive the Beacon Company 14-passenger vehicle (when applicable) with a clean driving record within the past 5 years You will be required to travel with the team This position pays an annual stipend of $9000-12000 for two seasons
