Program Season August - March Work Hours Part Time Responsibilities and Duties â— Coach student-athletes during cheer practices and football and basketball games â— Organize and schedule weekly practice plans. â— Effectively communicate with students and parents expectations of the program. â— Communicate with students and parents weekly and monthly practice, game and travel schedules. â— Coordinate travel to away games and tournaments. â— Promote the cheer program via in school events, 8to18, developing relationships with students at partner schools, etc. â— Motivate the students in their school academics and performance on the field. â— Setting up and taking down necessary equipment for home games and practices. â— Keeping track of school equipment and uniforms while in season and during the offseason. â— Coordinating and hosting the cheerleading postseason awards banquet. â— Run the cheerleading program consistently with the IHSA rules and regulations. â— Perform required duties assigned by the Athletic Director. Requirements 1. Have thorough knowledge of cheerleading and cheerleading safety. 2. Be able teach and demonstrate proper skills and techniques of cheerleading to student-athletes. 3. Have a valid driver's license. 4. Cheerleading coaching experience. 5. Ability to attend every practice and game. 6. Ability to effectively communicate with the Athletic Director and Assistant Athletic Director.
